The activities of the team include designing, manufacturing and characterisation of multicomponent high and medium entropy alloys and their composites processed by melting and casting techniques as well as mechanical alloying method followed by powder compaction.
Research activities
- High and medium entropy multicomponent TiNbTaZr-based alloys for biomedical applications
- Amorphous and nanocrystalline high and medium entropy CoCuFeNiNb/Ti/Zr alloys
- High and medium entropy based composites reinforced with ceramic phases
- Two phase CuMoTaWV refractory alloys processed by mechanical alloying, hot pressing, additive manufacturing, magnetron sputtering
-
High entropy FeCoCrNiV/Nb/Ta alloys precipitation strengthened by intermetallic phases formed during heat treatment and plastic deformation
Research offer
- Fabrication of alloys by arc/induction melting and casting as well as rapid solidification (melt-spinning)
- Manufacturing of alloyed powders by mechanical alloying applying various types of ball mills
- Phase composition (XRD) and microstructural studies (optical and SEM microscope)
- Chemical composition analysis (XRF)
- Thermal stability (DSC, DTA), density and porosity determination (helium picnometer)
